The Awkward Hug

Communication takes many forms.  It can be expressed in words, verbal or written in the myriad of ways we receive information today. It can be a wink, a nod or a hug.  No matter what form it takes, communication works better if we have some understanding of the person with whom we are communicating.

We have all probably experienced the awkwardness of hugging someone who does not particularly want to be hugged!  Communication of any form can be received the same way.

Understanding personality type gives us tools to work with and allows us to better target the communication to the individual.  This is important in business for getting buy in for ideas, approvals for funding, employee/employer support, and conflict resolution.  In our personal lives it enriches our relationships with family and friends by increasing our understanding of the triggers and solutions for harmony and conflict.
