An Ounce of Prevention

In business it is inevitable that there will be employees that you do not want to lose, and perhaps some that it would be nice to lose! To some degree you have control over both situations.

By giving your key employees responsibilities and the access to ongoing training and development in both hard and soft skills they may feel appreciated and valued. The green grass of the competitors may not seem as inviting.

Having good performance appraisal tools and using them consistently can mean the difference between an engaged employee and a disengaged one. Without it, how will you set and manage the employment goals?

Taking these step can assist in retaining your key employees and changing the direction of the marginal ones. Hiring is costly and can affect customer and client relations.

An ounce of prevention …………..
