Is Social Media creating non-thinkers?

I’m seeing a very disturbing trend on social media.  People are blindly re-posting articles that are one-sided and in many cases untrue, or at best partly true.  Some of the posts are blatant lies!

If you see a post on social media that you feel you want to re-post, check it out first.  Use Google to research the topic on Snopes, or to give you more information on the topic.  If it is legitimate, and you feel strongly about it, perhaps re-post it.

Think first of who you might be harming in the process.  Think of your business, or yourself, if someone posted something that was incorrect or a lie.  IT IS THERE FOREVER!  Businesses have failed because of false accusations and misinformation, and reputations scarred.

Use common sense before reposting articles or making comments about individuals you do not know.  Research and think before taking actions that may hurt someone.  Most of all, think of yourself and how you would feel if it happened to you!

As always, feel free to share this blog, giving credit to the author.
